2010 FIRST ROUND PICK JOINS MISSISSAUGA

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts have announced today that they have traded 2010 first round draft pick Kerby Rychel to the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors.

Rychel was selected by Barrie with the 21st overall pick but failed to report to Colts training camp, which began this morning.

The Colts will receive a second round pick in each of the next two seasons, and a third round pick in 2014.  They will also get a first round pick in 2011 as compensation for Rychel failing to report to training camp.

Barrie will begin scrimmages on Tuesday, August 31st, play their blue-white game on Thursday, September 2nd at 7:00 p.m., and begin exhibition play in Owen Sound on Sunday, September 6th.
