FORMER COLT LITTLE AND THE WOLVES VISIT THE TORONTO MARLIES IN PLAYOFF ACTION

Barrie Colts franchise leading scorer and Atlanta Thrashers prospect Bryan Little will skate into Toronto next week as the Chicago Wolves face the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League Western Conference Finals...Games one and two go Friday and Sunday in Chicago, then games three and four will be played at the Ricoh Coliseum Tuesday May 20 and Wednesday May 21.....Little this season started his first season of professional hockey after he was selected in the first round by the Thrashers in 2006.....He is currently Chicago's second leading scoring centre throughout the playoffs with (4g-3a-7pts) totals through 13 games....The Cambridge, ON native played in 48 games this season with the NHL club, and recorded six goals to go along with ten assists....The winner of the Marlies-Wolves series will go on to face the winner of the Portland and Wilkes-Barrie series in the Calder Cup Final....Click here for more information about attending games in Toronto

COLTS COMPLETE THE 2008 OHL PRIORITY SELECTION

The Barrie Colts Saturday May 3 completed the 2008 OHL Priority Selection by selecting a total of eight forwards, six defensemen and two forwards via the Internet from organization offices at the Barrie Molson Centre......They began the day by selecting defenseman Ryan O'Connor of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens 6th overall in the first round....O'Connor, 16, is regarded as one of the premiere defenseman available in the draft....He registered 83 points (25g-58a) in 85 games this season with the Jr. Canadiens, and was one of their key components in helping the team capture the OHL Cup......Click here to read more about O'Connor......The Colts then turned to the centre position, and chose a pair of skilled point-producers in the next rounds...The club drafted two goalies in the mid-rounds, and started that by taking 1991 goaltender Dalton McGrath in round six.....They also managed to draft another 1991; that in forward Darren Archibald in the seventh, as Archibald entered the draft after he had a breakout year with the Stouffville Spirit in recording 66 points (28g-36a) in 64 games.....Click here for the full listing of Barrie's draft-picks

MARCINKO SIGNS WITH THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS

The Barrie Colts announced that team captain Tomas Marcinko has signed a three-year NHL entry-level contract with the New York Islanders....Originally a fourth round pick (115th overall) of the Islanders in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Marcinko became the first European captain in Colts history when he was appointed the role in January 2008....He was second in team scoring during the 2007-08 regular season with 19 goals to go along with 26 assists through 48 games....Originally from Poprad, Slovakia, Marcinko was a member of Team Slovakia at the past two Under-20 World Junior Championships....Click here to read more information about the signing
