The Barrie Colts will host their Annual New Year’s Eve skate with the Colts this Saturday night as they ring in the New Year by welcoming the Erie Otters to the Barrie Molson Centre.
Fans are invited to hop on the ice and skate with the team following the game between the Colts and Otters.
This is the second match of the season between these clubs as they round out their season-series.
Barrie was lucky to escape Erie with a 4-3 shoot-out victory back on December 2nd. Clint Windsor and the Colts mounted a comeback in that game and went on to defeat the league’s worst team in what turned out to be the first of three straight wins for the club.
The Otters have won just five times in 36 games and have 12 points so far this season. They are coming off a 5-2 loss at Peterborough on Thursday night.
The Colts are fresh off a comeback victory against the Brampton Battalion in which they trailed the troops 2-0, but rallied with just 15 skaters and went on to a 4-3 shoot-out win.
Barrie will look to wrap up their weekend with a 2-1 record despite missing some key contributors.
Mark Scheifele, Tanner Pearson and Ivan Telegin are all at the IIHF World Junior Championship, while Aaron Ekblad and Alex Yuill are at the Under-17 Championship.
