COLTS OVER ICEDOGS 4-3 IN A SHOOT-OUT

Gregg Sutch and the Colts defeated Niagara 4-3 in a shoot-out Saturday night


The Barrie Colts completed their weekend with their second straight shoot-out victory to vault themselves in to a first place tie with in the Central division. 

Gregg Sutch scored the game-tying goal in the second period and added a beautiful marker in the shoot-out to lift the Colts to the 4-3 win. 

Ivan Telegin had a goal and an assist and Tanner Pearson scored his 22nd goal of the season to extend his point streak to a league-high 15 games. 

Niagara took a 3-1 lead in the second period before the Colts came back for the second straight night and pushed the game to overtime. 

Mark Scheifele set up Telegin who scored short-handed on Mark Visentin; four minutes later Sutch drove hard to the net and hammered home a rebound for his sixth goal of the season. 

Mathias Niederberger made 38 saves for the win and has allowed just seven goals in his last three starts. 

The German goalie will now head home to compete in the World Under-20 B Pool and will return towards the end of December. 

Reid McNeill made his return to the lineup after a two game suspension and picked up an assist.
