COLTS GET SET FOR HOME AND HOME WITH NIAGARA

Anthony Camara and the Colts play the IceDogs on Thursday and Saturday

The Barrie Colts get set for a very important home-and-home series with the Niagara IceDogs this weekend.

Barrie will travel to the Gatorade Garden City Complex in St. Catharines on Thursday night, and then host the IceDogs on Saturday night.

It’s the first time the Colts will play just two games in a week since November 11th and 12th when they dropped back-to-back games.

The IceDogs, meanwhile, will play the Wolves on Friday night, in between their two-game battle with the Colts.

Niagara was active leading up to the trade deadline acquiring defenceman Jamie Oleksiak from Saginaw and forward Brett Ritchie from Sarnia, bolstering an already potent IceDogs offense.

They come in to the Thursday’s game on a two game win streak and have collected eight wins in their last ten games.

They sit just two points ahead of Barrie in the Central division with 23 wins and 49 points so far this year.

The Colts are third in the division and fourth in the conference with 22 wins and 47 points.  They are eight points out of first overall, but just seven points out of ninth place.

Barrie forward Tanner Pearson sits third in the league in goals, second in assists and first in points with 67 in 32 games.  He leads Ottawa forward Tyler Toffoli by one point in the OHL scoring race.
