Barrie defeated the Majors for the first time this season
The Barrie Colts entertained the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors Thursday night at the Barrie Molson Centre looking for their first win of the season against their Central division rivals.
The Colts scored a pair of goals in the second period and Clint Windsor allowed the Majors to just one goal on 25 shots as he picked up second star honours in the Colts 2-1 victory.
After a scoreless first period it was the Colts who got on the board first with a power play goal from Eric Locke. Zach Hall found Ivan Telegin who went cross-crease to Locke who tapped in his fifth of the season.
2:30 later the Majors squared the game with a goal from Jamie Wise as he scored unassisted.
Telegin notched the game-winner with 94 seconds left in the middle stanza as Hall found him with a perfect pass and the forward sniped his 12th of the year, Aaron Ekblad picked up the second assist.
The Colts have the day off on Friday before hosting the Conference leading Ottawa 67’s on Saturday. They then travel to Peterborough on Sunday to play the seventh-placed Petes.
