COLTS DRAFT PICK SELECTED TO CJHL TOP PROSPECTS GAME

Barrie Colts draft pick Josh Carrick competed for Team Canada East last weekend.


Josh Carrick was drafted by the Barrie Colts in the 7th round, 139th overall in the 2012 entry draft. The 5.11" 176lbs defencemen was selected to play in the CJHL top prospect game for Canada East vs Canada West in Yarmouth Nova Scotia. Games were played this past Saturday and Sunday where Carrick had a strong showing as the youngest defencemen on the team. He picked up an assist in game two and was one of only three 16 year olds on the Canada East roster.

Josh Carrick is currently playing for the Stouffville Spirit of the OPJHL in his first year. In 16 games he has 1 goal and 3 assist for 4 points while adding 8 pims. Josh has three brothers Jake Carrick, Sam Carrick and Trevor Carrick who have all played in the OHL. The Stouffville, Ontario native continues to show great strides in his development and is proving to be a steal for the Colts in the seventh round.
