December 10, 2011

Ivan Telegin scored the only Barrie goal on Saturday night

The Brampton Battalion snapped the Barrie Colts four game-winning streak Saturday night before a near sell-out crowd at the Barrie Molson Centre.

The Battalion furthered their lead atop the Central division after a 4-1 victory against Clint Windsor and the Colts.

After a scoreless first period the troops got on the board in the second with a goal from Jamie Lewis.

That was followed up by Ivan Telegin’s 11th of the season from Daniel Erlich and Colin Behenna making it 1-1 after 40 minutes.

Brampton scored three unanswered in the third period including an empty-net tally to make it a 4-1 final.

Barclay Goodrow and Adam Lloyd each had a goal and an assist in the third period as Brampton moves three points ahead of Barrie in the Central division.

Clint Windsor allowed three goals on 33 shots and loses for the first time since the departure of Mathias Niederberger.

Matej Machovsky was the first star after a 31 save performance.

Tanner Pearson and Mark Scheifele did not play as they are at the World Junior selection camp; the Colts were also without Zach Hall.
