Barrie Colts "Adopt a School" Program

Matthew Ward, owner of Salon International, visits Mount Slaven Public School, the first adopted school selected in the Barrie Colts "Adopt A School" Program.

The Barrie Colts are pleased to announce the launch of our latest community corporate sponsor program.

The Barrie Colts have teamed up with the Simcoe County District School Board, the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, and the Barrie Examiner to form the "Adopt A School" program. Originally brought into the Ontario Hockey League by the Ottawa 67's, "Adopt A School" ties businesses within the community together with elementary and secondary schools in an effort to provide young students with the inspiration to achieve.

The object of the program is to partner a local business with an area school. Companies will donate the tickets to the school, who will create programs to reward students who excel in various aspects of academics, sports, and special projects, to name a few.
